100 Thousand Poets for change is a worldwide event taking place in hundreds of cities on September 24th. The Atlanta edition will feature readings from Molly Brodak, Bruce Covey, Lyndsey Cohen, Gina Myers, and Seth Parker as well as music by Lacuna M. Comedians Michael Humphrey and Josh Harris will each do standup sets and there will also be a belly dancing performance. We’ll have a chapbook for sale featuring work from over 30 poets and illustrations from local Atlanta artist Erin Bassett (Plastic Aztecs). There will also be an art auction featuring work from other local artists. All proceeds go to benefit a hospitality-based community center that will be based in East Atlanta, and will focus on at-risk youth.

There will also be free food, and the Ballroom has an excellent bar with beverages that might interest you.

Hope to see you there!
