On Day 3,yesterday, September 26th, poets were in the streets for Street Dub Vibes. Poetry was unleashed in the streets of Half Way Tree, amid the crowds, in a bar, at bus stops, parks, spreading the word in the name of change.
Today marks the final day of 100,000 Poets For Change: Jamaica 2011 & it will be hosted at “100,000 Verses” – The Poetry Society of Jamaica’s Monthly Fellowship – Sept 27, 2011 at the Edna Manley College Amphitheatre, 7:30pm.
This fellowship will form part of our countdown the the launch of the Poetry Society of Jamaica’s ‘coming of age’ project Verse vs. Verse. This Project is an islandwide initiative being undertaken in association with CXC and the National Association of Teachers of English (NATE) to, among other things build and inspire students towards a deeper appreciation and application of literature.
